Mr Olabode Olayemi, the Kwara Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, on Tuesday urged the FRSC in the state to improve in its efforts of managing traffic in Ilorin metropolis.

Olayemi spoke in Ilorin while receiving the Kwara Sector Commander of FRSC, Mary Wakama, who visited the ministry.

The commissioner, who stressed the importance of traffic management in an urban society, assured the commission of his support, especially in the area of physical planning.

Olayemi said that his ministry would improve on its collaborative efforts with the commission to curb traffic challenges.

In her remarks, Wakama called for collaboration with the ministry in sensitising residents of the state on traffic management.

She also said the new driver's licence was necessary for all motorists in the state due to its multi-dimensional usage.

Wakama said the driver's licence and number plates were put in place to build an authentic data base of motorists. (NAN)
