KWSG DISTRIBUTES COMPUTER SET TO LOCAL GOVTS
The Kwara State Government has presented a set of computer system to all the 16 Local Government Areas in the state with the aim of stopping truancy, absenteeism and ghost worker syndrorme on the part of the workers of all the local governments.
The affected staffers include primary school, Local Government Service Commission as well as the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) staffers.
The state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Alhaji Isa Adamu Bawa while presenting the software at the ministry last Wednesday, called on all the staff handling the system to take proper care of them.
Bawa said the gesture is part of the agreement reached with the Consultant that handled the
staff auditing verification and biometric screening of the staff of the effected
establishments.
He pointed out that with the provision of computer system each staff of the council would thumb print in and out of working place every day, which would refocus, rejuvenate and further reposition the local government administration for enhanced productivity.
Speaking, the State ALGON Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Adebayo Ishola who is also the Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Area said the system is a welcome development, especially now that all the councils are looking inward to get money for more developmental purposes.
Ishola therefore commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for his concern at the Local Government Areas, stressing that they would continue to put in their best to provide more dividends of democracy to the people.
Also speaking, the Officer In charge of biometric data during the auditing and verification exercise, Mr. Olanipekun Gabriel said the system has been fielded with all relevant information data. Gabriel said he would continue to monitor the use of the system to enforce an accomplishment of the purpose they are meant to serve.
