Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Kwara State Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed were among those honoured by the Radio, Television, Theatre, and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) North Central Zone at the closing ceremony of its 8th Annual Festival, Rattafest, which ended in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Saturday.

Saraki was voted Good Ambassador of North Central zone while Ahmed received the nod as The Most Outstanding Governor 2014. RATTAWU said Governor Ahmed was recognized for his immense contribution towards the upliftment and preservation of culture and media sectors, human dignity and service to God and Humanity.

Presenting the award, Comrade Sunday Olu Jethro, Deputy National President, RATTAWU said the union's awards are not for the highest bidder but for those individuals who have made significant achievement and impact on the people.

Governor Ahmed, who was represented by His Senior Special Assistant, Media and Communication, Dr Muyideen Akorede, thanked RATTAWU for the recognition which he said will spur him to work harder to uplift the state and its people.

Ahmed dedicated the award to RATTAWU members in Kwara State and indeed all Kwarans, pledging that the state government will soon unveil a program for the development of state-owned media and the culture sector in the state.
