UNILORIN and KWASU Join Nationwide ASUU Warning Strike
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and Kwara State University (KWASU), both located in Kwara State, have joined the nationwide warning strike ordered by the national body of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Both the federal and state universities took the decision after marathon congress meetings held on Monday.
The Chairman of the ASUU, University of Ilorin chapter, Dr. Alex Akanmu, confirmed the development in an interview with Vanguard. "We are committed to the ideals of the strike, so we have joined the nationwide strike," Dr. Akanmu told the publication.
Similarly, the Chairman of the ASUU, Kwara State University chapter, Dr. Abdulganiyu Salau, also confirmed the development in a separate interview with Vanguard. "We are part of the agreement of the national body, so this time around we have joined, it was the declaration we made after our congress today," Dr. Salau stated.
