KWSG Commences Removal of Illegal Structure
The Kwara State Government has commenced the removal of illegal make shift structure in Ilorin, the State Capital with immediate effect.
The removal exercise carried out by the Directorate of Physical Planning and Development Control of the Kwara State Geographic Information Service, commenced during the week, at Agba Dam Road, , behind Government House, Ilorin.
The Acting Administrative Secretary and Director Personnel Finance and Supply of the Agency, Mrs Motunrayo Adaran disclosed that the exercise was a routine, in a bid to protect Ilorin Master Plan, in order to curtail the excesses of developers, in the metropolis.
The Acting Administrative Director who was represented by Director of Physical Planning Development Control, TPL Taiye Mohammed stated that, the make shift structure poses threats to Kwarans, adding that developers affected by this exercise were already served with notice of removal, according to the dictates of law.
Adaran therefore warned residents to refrain from making structures without recourse to Planning Authority, to avoid the wrath of law.
Also lending a voice, the Assistant Director of Development Control, TPL Sunday Idowu, stated further that, the affected structures are eyesore and security threat to be situated at Government Reserved Areas, to government property in the area, as such could possibly be abodes for miscreants.
He advised developers in the State to always approach KWGIS, as a matter of necessity, on appropriate and suitable setbacks for approval, before carrying out any development.
