Preparatory to the forthcoming second edition of Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq Open Chess competition tagged, "Governor's Challenge; season 2" which is billed to hold in the ancient town of Offa between on 6th and 8th of February 2021, members of the Kwara State Chess Association led by its Chairman, Mr Rasheed Aiyelabegan and the Director of Sports, Kwara State Sports Council, Alhaji Alarape Atanda paid a courtesy visit on his Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye ll at his palace in Offa on Wednesday 20th 2021.

Speaking during the visit, Mr, Aiyelabegan formally informed the Royal Father of the forthcoming Open Chess Competition organized in collaboration with the Kwara State Sports Council, to be held in Offa. Mr, Aiyelabegan who used the priveledge to solicit for royal support and blessing towards the success of the competition also craved the indulgence of the traditional ruler to grace the Chess Competition with his royal presence.

In his response, the excited Olofa of Offa expressed his appreciation to the State's Chess Association and Sports Council for their choice of Offa as host of the very crucial Chess Competition in the state. The highly elated royal father who displayed some brilliant moves on the Chess Board to the admiration of his guests promised to personally graced the opening ceremony of the competition and pledged his readiness to contribute all within his powers to ensure the success of the upcoming second edition of the Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq Open Chess Tournament.
