Minimum wage: Labour shelves proposed strike in Kwara

The Joint Labour Congress in Kwara state has shelved it's proposed strike action over the negotiations of the payment of the 30,000 naira minimum wage by the Kwara State Government.

The latest action of the union was contained in a press release copied VON and jointly signed by the State chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Issa ?r?, his Trade Union Congress TUC, counterpart Comrade Kolawole Olumoh and the Chairman of JNC, Saliu Suleiman.

The statement said the negotiation committee on the minimum wage of 30,000 naira has concluded their discussion but are yet to sign the agreement for proper perusal of the document. The union which said the proposed strike action was shelved with immediate effect to enable it ratify the whole process for the benefit of the state workers also urged the workers to be diligent and support Labour activities in the state.
