Kwara CUTI Wants Schools' Subvention Increased
The Committee of Union on Tertiary Institutions (CUTI), Kwara State chapter, has appealed to the state government to increase its financial commitment on the state owned institutions.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Comrade Amuda Kannike AbdulKareem, the association urged the government to jerk up monthly subvention to the schools so as to enable them to meet financials obligations to their staff.
The statement also urged the state government to prevail on the National council on Colleges of Education (NCCE) on the accreditation of some courses in the affected institutions.
The statement, however commended the state governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed on the creation of Ministry of Tertiary Institutions and the appointment of Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu Lade as commissioner in charge of the ministry.
The union also thanked the government over the payment of 70 percent COMPCASS and CONTEDISS for the staff of the institutions.
