Kwara community laud Saraki's aide, Gbenga Makanjuola over communal services

The Omu-Aran Community in Irepodun LGA of Kwara has applauded the Rural Intervention project embarked upon by Hon, Gbenga Makanjuola, an aide to the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki.
Chief Bisi Adeyemi, the President, Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA) gave the commendation on Monday while reacting to the on-going rehabilitation of Anglican Church/Olupo-Odo/Igangu roads in Omu-Aran metropolis.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Makanjuola, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Saraki, had on Sunday flagged off the rehabilitation of the roads as part of his communal intervention project in Omu-Aran.
Makanjuola had earlier facilitated the installation of 138 street light poles across major streets in the community.
Adeyemi, who is also the Akeweje of Omu-Aran, said the deplorable state of roads had remained one of the major challenges being faced by the people of the community.
He disclosed that the ODA executive had paid a visit to the Government House in Ilorin in September to remind the government of its promise to commence the rehabilitation of the roads within the 2018 budget appropriation.
Adeyemi, who described Makanjuola's communal e efforts as unprecedented and a welcome development, urged other well meaning individual and groups to emulate the kind gesture in moving the community forward.
Mr Yinka Olaoye, Special Adviser to Governor Abdufatah Ahmed of Kwara State on Asset Management, commended the project initiator for his foresight and act of magnanimity.
Olaoye said the recent Peoples Democratic Party's stakeholders meeting comprising of the three wards in the community of Omu-Aran was meant to strategise and interact ahead of the 2019 general elections.
He disclosed that the promised rehabilitation of the township roads by the government has been scheduled to commence by next week barring unforeseen circumstance.
Makanjuola, in his remark, described the project as his own little way of giving back to the people of the community.
"As we await the government road intervention to commence very soon, I felt it is also our responsibility to add values to the living standard and wellbeing of our people through the communal project initiative," he said,
The Senate President aide who express optimism in PDP's ability to come out victorious in the coming elections, urged party members not to succumb to any act of intimidation but remain loyal and steadfast.
He described the party's recent stakeholder's forum in the community as a wake-up call to members and a veritable avenue to plan ahead in order to achieve the desired victory at the poll. (NAN)
