Foundation donates relief materials to motherless centre

AN Ilorin based Non-Governmental Organization, (NGO), Threshold of Hope Foundation, has reiterated commitment to the provision of adequate supports to inmates of motherless homes, widows, orphans and vulnerable children in the society.

A member of the Board of Trustees of the organization, Damilola Ibitoye Yusuf, stated this on Monday while presenting relief materials to the Kwara State Motherless Centre in Ilorin the state capital.

She disclosed that "Threshold of Hope Foundation will continue to give hope of better future to the less privilege especially the orphan and children of various forms of abuse."

ROYAL NEWS reports that items donated to the centre include, food stuff, beverages, noodles, pampers, biscuits, detergents, disinfectants, toiletries as well as cash donation among others.

According to her, "My visit to this centre today is in commemoration of my birthday celebration, to identify with the downtrodden and also, to present some relief materials to further cushion their well-being. Let me confirm to you that this is the best birthday that I have ever celebrated and I promise to make it a tradition to always visit this centre time to time especially on specials day like this."

Damilola Yusuf however appealed to the inmates not to lose hope and confidence in God stressing that Threshold of Hope Foundation will continue in its efforts towards ensuring that life is worthwhile for them.

In his remarks, the Officer-In-Charge of the Centre, Mr. Ikupolati Taiye, commended the foundation for the huge donation adding that, "You are one of our major pillars of survival.

Mr. Ikupolati who enumerated the various categories of inmates in the centre as "abandoned children, motherless children, children of lunatics, disputed children as well as loss but found children" appealed to philanthropists to come to the aid of the less privileged children.

He however described the celebrant's kindheartedness as encouraging and inspiring even as he called on men and women of goodwill to emulate Damilola Yusuf and the entire leadership of Threshold of Hope Foundation's laudable contributions to nation-building.

He therefore commended the founder of the NGO, Hajiya Maryam Bolanle Yusuf for her relentless and consistent interventions into the numerous plights and challenges facing the centre.
