You can leave a response or trackback to this entry Share Tweet Share Pin Mail By Ahmed Ajikobi There was heightened tension among residents of Ita-Kudimoh area of Ilorin following rumours of release of a suspected ritualist, Wasiu Iseoluwa, who was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command last week. The suspect, who is known as Baba Muri was said to have been released during the week by the policemen, a situation which created tension in the Ita-Kudimoh community.

It was also gathered that a resident of the community, who Wasiu’s nefarious act to members of the Oodua Peoples Congress(OPC) has been reportedly arrested by the state police command, last Friday.

It was learnt that, the eyewitness whose name is yet to be identified as at the time of filing this report was said to be invited by the police for interrogation over the incident.

The eyewitness was said to have been arrested and whisked away by the police while trying to escape through the backdoor. A police source said that, the eyewitness and the mastermind suspect are both detained at the office of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The source added that, during interrogation, the suspect, Wasiu, claimed all items found in his house were planted by those who disliked him in the area, adding that he is innocent of all allegations against him.

The suspect, who had earlier claimed that items found on him were animal parts was said to have confessed to the crime of dealing in human parts when he was quizzed by men of the vigilante team in the area.

Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi has debunked the rumour of release of the suspect adding that he is still under investigation in police custody.

It would be recalled that there was chaos penultimate Sunday as angry residents of Kokorokan Street, Abata Suban in Ita Kudimo, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State pulled down an alleged ritualists' den in the area. Also, a suspected ritualist, simply identified as Wasiu Iseoluwa was caught in the act with human parts and lifeless baby.
