Pray for peace, Sulu-Gambari urges Nigerian Pilgrims

As Muslim faithful prepares for this year's Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged Nigerian Pilgrims to pray fervently for quick economic recovery and harmonious working relationship among the entire citizenry.

This is contained in a statement signed by the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, noting that Emir charged the Pilgrims to put the interest of the nation at heart in their supplications.

The Emir, according to the statement made this admonition on Friday in a telephone conversation with delegates from Kwara State who are performing this year's Hajj in Saudi Arabia has part of efforts towards looking after their wellbeing stressing that "This period calls for sober reflections amidst numerous economic and security challenges.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari also reminded them to be good ambassadors of the state and nation at large and shun all acts capable of tarnishing the image of Nigeria maintaining that "With love and respect for constituted authority, Nigeria will still continue to be relevant among the League of Nations."

The statement however appealed to youths of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State as a whole to be law abiding before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir sallah festival and also advised parents and guardians to warn their children/wards against destructive acts.

The monarch also encouraged Muslim faithful to reflect on the reasons for which Eid-Adha came to being by imbibing the culture of patience, tolerance and perseverance in order to be fully rewarded by Almighty Allah.
