A man from Ilorin has cried out for help to raise N800,000 for his hip replacement surgery.

He writes:

My name is Mahamud Mohammed, a 28-year-old sufferer of Sickle Cell Anemia from Ilorin Kwara State.

Few years back, I lost my younger sister to the same Sickle Cell. I am second from the family of seven, and have been battling with this illness since my childhood. But this stage of my life has been the most challenging one for me as I developed a problem with my hip and most time I find it difficult to walk. My doctor told me that I would need to do a total hip replacement surgery.

My parents have tried to raise the money for me but their efforts haven't yielded any fruit as my dad is a taxi driver in Ilorin while my mum is a petty trader.

It is not easy to live with Sickle Cell Anemia not to talk of when it is coupled with severe pains around the hip. I am using this medium to seek help from well meaning Nigerians as I can not fight this battle alone and the pain is getting unbearable for me.

A total of N220,000 has been raised for him out of the N800,000 needed.
