OPINION: Gbemi Saraki Back On The Grind. By Funsho Akinwale

Date: 2016-02-20

CALL it destiny or sheer providence, but Gbemisola Saraki, the two-time female Senator, happens to be one of those few people who grew up amid the frills of wealth, fame and a wonderful streak of luck.

All good of life were thrust upon her at an early age. From the Eldorado of wonderful childhood through the luxury of an extraordinary adolescence, the beautiful politician rose to national consciousness, courtesy of her late father, Chief Olusola Saraki, a frontline politician in the Second Republic, who ruled the political landscape of Kwara State for several years before his son, Bukola Saraki, the present Senate President, took over.

However, having swum with sharks without being eaten alive, the fearless female politician has now found favour before men; hence she is back on the block.

She has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University, Otuoke in Bayelsa State.

Gbemi, who has been avoiding the public glare for some time now, is saddled with nurturing the newly established federal university, along with others members of the Council and institution’s administrators.
