Hon. Razak Atunwa has commiserated with traders and residents of Okolowo over the fire accident.
The former Speaker of Kwara Assembly noted that for many years, Okolowo market has remained pivotal to the state's economy serving as strong economic ground for sales and distribution of farm products from Kwara to other parts of North Central and South West Nigeria respectively.
While thanking God that no life was lost to the fire accident, Atunwa reinstated that the safety of traders, their goods and market infrastructures are paramount to the government. He stated that as a lawmaker, sponsoring bills that will accelerate and sustain safety of economic environments such as markets is a leading theme in his agenda at the Federal House of Representatives.
Speaking to news correspondents in a telephone conversation, Media Assistant to the lawmaker, Mr. Olawale Rotimi after passing Barr. Razak Atunwa's sympathy to the traders, emphasized that Atunwa's huge commitment to safe economic atmosphere is not a recent development.
"As we speak, Barr. Razak Atunwa is very unhappy by the news of the fire accident at Okolowo market and he sends his sympathy. This case is exceptional and taken seriously by Barr. Atunwa because he prioritizes safety of every economic environment irrespective of the size. This is evident in his incessant progressive visits and interactions with traders in Oloje, Eiyekorin markets among others in the Constituency" he stated.
"I am assuring traders across the constituency that no interest is strong enough to compete their topmost position in the agenda of Barr. Razak Atunwa. Therefore a decisive effort will continually be made to ensure our traders are safe, their goods and infrastructures too" he added.
Barr. Atunwa also commiserated with the Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Alhaji Zulu Oloje.
