National Pilot MD turbaned

The Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, National Pilot Newspaper, Alhaji Billy Adedamola, was on Sunday turbaned Nuru Deen by Al-Nuraniyah-Alasaliyyah Society of Nigeria (NURASAL).

Alhaji Adadamola, according to the religious organisation, was turbaned in appreciation of his contributions to the propagation of Islam.

The ceremony, which was held at Government High School, Ilorin, had in attendance, the Chairman, House of Representatives' Committee on Justice, Dr. Ahmad Ali; Hon. Salam Baakini, representing Ilorin North West in the Kwara State House of Assembly; Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi; Special Assistant on Non-Intergovernmental to the state governor, Alhaji Ali Olola; Hon. Hassan Gegele and Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Wahab Oba.

Others were; the former Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of the state, Alhaji Mas'ud Adebimpe; General Manager of the Herald Newspaper, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Adebayo, his Radio Kwara counterpart, Alhaji Abdullateef Adedeji; Chairman, Kwara State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Abiodun Abdulkareem, his predecessor, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi; former Chairman of Asa local Government, Alhaji Kayode Lakadri and pioneer General Manager of Harmony FM, Idofian, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf.

Also, the royal fathers were led to the occasion by the Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin, Alhaji Issa Ajikobi; while Fadilat Sheikh Issa Aruhullahi, led other Islamic clerics to the event.

The National Pilot family was led to the occasion by the Editor of the paper, Mrs Christie Doyin.

In his brief sermon, Sheikh Aruhullahi admonished Muslims to be steadfast in serving Allah and humanity, and asked them to always remember of the thereafter. Responding, Alhaji Adedamola thanked the religious organisation for the honour done him, adding that his new status would spur him to serve Allah the more.
