Buhari Will End Corruption, Insurgency - Ahmed
The Kwara State governor, Alh. AbdulFatah Ahmed has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari will end the growing incidents of corruption and insecurity in Nigeria if elected next year.
Ahmed stated this in Ilorin during an interview with newsmen in Ilorin.
He noted that the emergence of Buhari was a reflection of the confidence of Nigerians that the former head of state has capacity to tackle problems of corruption and insecurity confronting the country.
The governor recalled that Buhari had the antecedent Nigerians could look back to and agree to the fact that he had done it well and would do it again.
On the conduct of the APC presidential primary, Ahmed explained that the exercise ushered in a new trend for Nigeria's democracy as Nigerians saw democracy and sportsmanship in action which he emphasised was a reflection of what Nigerians should be looking forward to from next year.
He urged other political parties to learn inclusiveness, sportsmanship and allow one man, one vote concept to be their watchwords in any democratic selection process.
On the election of Senator Simeon Ajibola as the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, the governor submitted that his emergence was not a challenge to his bid for re-election but a better opportunity to continue his various programmes for the people of the state.
"I don't see him as a threat. Indeed in the last election I was part of the team who pleaded with the people of Kwara South to re-elect him into the Senate," the governor added.
Ahmed promised to continue to upscale his programmes as the people of the state are ready to make their choice in good governance, development, peace and youth empowerment as demonstrated in the last three years.
