The Kwara delegation to the 2014 Christian pilgrimage to Israel has pledged its commitment to avoid any action that could tarnish the image of Nigeria.

The head of the delegation, Oba Samuel Dada, made the pledge on Sunday in Ilofa, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Dada, who is also the Allofa of Ilofa, said the intending pilgrims could not afford to fail the nation in view of the high expectation expected of them.

He said that all the necessary arrangements including logistics, feeding, accommodation and healthcare had been made to ensure a hitch-free exercise in the Holy land.

he monarch said the intending pilgrims had signified their commitment to pray for Nigeria while in Israel to enable the country overcome its challenges.

"What else can we ask for in view of the solid arrangement the state government has put in place to make the intending pilgrims comfortable in the Holy land.

"We are grateful and indebted to the Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed for providing the necessary assistance and the enabling environment," he said.

Dada said the state Christian Pilgrims' Welfare Board had organised seminar to sensitise the intending pilgrims on what was expected of them during the exercise."

"The essence of the seminar is to enlighten them on what they should expect in the Holy Land in order not to disobey the rules and regulations of the exercise," Dada said.
