According to Governor Ahmed, the cash-less policy requires to be pursued, not mainly by the Central Bank but by the Federal Government with the deployment of necessary infrastructure, especially power while the Central Bank must evolve critical success factors for the policy.

The Governor suggested that the curricular of Banking and Finance programmes in the nation’s tertiary institutions must be restructured to meet current exigencies, rather than run courses that have no bearing with modern reality, saying that his administration has concluded plans to establish an office that will drive inclusive banking in the State with the appointment of a Special Assistant on Inclusive Banking.

In her address, the Acting Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Sarah Alade, represented by the Ilorin Branch Controller of the Bank, Mr Monday Olatewo said the cash-less policy would modernize Nigeria’s payment system, reduce cost of banking services and drive financial inclusion.
