KWSG assures teachers of welfare

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of teachers in the state.
The Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed, stated this at the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Abuja workshop organized in collaboration with the Nigeria  Union of Teachers, Kwara State Chapter, at African People's Hall, GRA Ilorin.
Alhaji Dabarako who was the Chairman of the occasion descrIbed the theme of the workshop entitled, improvement workshop for Teachers of Mathematics and English Language in Nigerian Junior and Senior Secondary School as most appropriate and timely.
He advised teachers not to take teaching profession with levity as they are number three best paid salary earners in the world.
The National President and Chief Executive of the Union, Comrade Michael Alogba Olukoyo, who was represented by the Director of Professional Operations, Dr. Steve Nwokeocha stated that the workshop was a wakeup call to teachers to rise up to the challenges of mass failure in Mathematics and English Language in both WAEC and NECO in recent times.
The union chief executive said that TRCN has set up a standard to asses teachers performances, attitude and skills if they must impact knowledge to the pupils, and students at all levels of education career.
He stressed that workshops, seminars, trainings, publications, accommodations and feeding was always free of charge for the teachers especially if invited to Abuja for the exercise.
