Kwara United Secure One-Year Shirt Sponsorship Deal with Chowdeck
Kwara United have secured a one-year front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Nigerian food delivery platform, Chowdeck, for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, although the financial value of the agreement remains undisclosed.
The deal was unveiled on Saturday at the club's secretariat in Ilorin, with Chowdeck's logo set to feature prominently on the front of Kwara United's home and away shirts.
Beyond shirt branding, the agreement includes digital matchday services, including online ticket sales and the purchase of club jerseys through the Chowdeck app.
Chowdeck's Head of Operations, Nasir Umar, an Ilorin native, described the partnership as both a professional and personal homecoming.
Umar, however, declined to disclose the financial value of the agreement, saying he was "not at liberty" to reveal the figures.
Kwara United chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, confirmed the sponsorship arrangement but disclosed that proceeds from the deal would be paid directly to the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), reflecting the state's financial interest in the club.
Titiloye also acknowledged the role of the Kwara State Sports Commission in facilitating the relationship between the club and Chowdeck.
"We are partnering with Chowdeck as our shirt sponsor and partner, and they are also going to get involved in matchday tickets and so many other things that will come around it," he said.
"Due to the symbiotic relationship between Kwara United and the Commission, the chairman was able to introduce Chowdeck to Kwara United."
The arrangement gives Chowdeck a growing presence in Nigeria's top-flight football, following its reported partnerships with Shooting Stars and Sporting Lagos.
Financial details of those agreements were also not publicly disclosed, making the Kwara United deal another commercial arrangement involving Chowdeck and an NPFL club whose cash value has not been made public.
Kwara State Football Association chairman, Idris Abdullahi Thuraya, welcomed the deal, describing stronger commercial partnerships as important to the sustainability of football clubs.
Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji, said the agreement was part of the broader effort by the state government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to strengthen sports development and commercial opportunities.
For Kwara United, the deal provides a new commercial platform as the club prepares for the 2026/27 NPFL season, while the integration of ticketing and merchandise sales into Chowdeck's digital platform could give the club an additional channel for engaging supporters and generating revenue.
For Chowdeck, the agreement further expands its visibility in Nigerian professional football, taking its reported NPFL club partnerships to three.
