Kwara United Drawn Against Abuja's Sporting Supreme U-19 in Federation Cup Title Defence
Defending champions Kwara United have been drawn against Sporting Supreme U-19 of Abuja in the Round of 64 of this year's President Federation Cup following the draws conducted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The Harmony Boys will commence their title defence against the Abuja-based side next Wednesday at Anyingba, Kogi State.
Kwara United enter the encounter in high spirits, having gone five matches unbeaten in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
According to fixtures released at the NFF headquarters in Abuja, venues and kick-off times for all Round of 64 matches will be communicated to participating teams on or before the weekend.
Reacting to the draw, Kwara United coach Ashifat Suleiman expressed confidence in his players' readiness for the challenge, noting that the team is determined to extend its impressive league form into the Federation Cup campaign.
"We are ready for the championship. We are not underrating any team and we will approach the game with a winning mentality," he said.
Coach Suleiman also appealed for continuous support from fans, supporters and stakeholders as the club seeks to successfully defend the title won last year.
Kwara United are expected to embark on a double journey next week, with the Federation Cup Round of 64 clash scheduled for Wednesday before travelling to Yenagoa for their final NPFL game of the season against Bayelsa United next Sunday.
