Ahmed pledges due process in governance
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has charged political office holders to adhere strictly to the principle of due process and discharge their responsibilities creditably and conscientiously in the collective interest of the State.
The Governor gave the charge yesterday at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold; Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed; and Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Mohammed Toyin Sanusi.
Speaking during the inauguration of the new appointees at Government House, Ilorin, Ahmed disclosed that the need to put in place effective structures that would facilitate the realisation of his administration’s dreams informed the choice of the three appointees.
He congratulated the new appointees on their well deserved appointment and charged them to bring their past experiences and track record of achievements to bear in order to justify the confidence reposed in them.
The governor also urged them to make prudence, probity, accountability, fairness, justice and equity their watchwords, stressing the need for progressive development of Civil Servants to be paramount in their agenda in order to implement thoroughly the articulated policies of the State Government.
He admonished the appointees to forge cordial working relationship devoid of unhealthy competition, acrimony and rivalry among themselves and to carry their staff along in the discharge of their responsibilities so that they can collectively move the State forward.
While congratulating the people of the State and the entire Civil Servants for the opportunity to have the three newly sworn-in appointees at the helm of affairs, Ahmed urged them to extend their hands of fellowship to them for the overall benefit of the populace.
Responding on behalf of other appointees, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold expressed appreciation to the Governor for the honour done them and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them.
While pledging their loyalty and support to the State Government, the new SSG assured that they would redouble their efforts to deliver on their responsibilities.
