FA Cup ties hot up in Kwara, Imo, Benue & others
FA Cup matches have taken the place of league games this weekend and very interesting final ties are expected across the nation from kwara to Benue and other states in Nigeria
Kwara United will face Kwara Football Academy (KFA) on Saturday in the final of the 2015 State's FA Cup after both teams defeated their semi final foes to set up a date at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
The Afonja Warriors with head coach, Tunde Abdulrahman struggled but they beat hard fighting kwara United feeders 1-0 in the first semi final played on Tuesday in Ilorin with Ahmed Jimoh's solitary goal separating both sides.
But KFA that eliminated ABS FC in the quarter final added LUBCOM to their victims in the last four encounter played on Wednesday evening in Ilorin after they sent the team packing 4-2 on penalties after the regulation time stood at 1-1 draw.
In Owerri the Imo State capital Thursday will be crucial for the four teams remaining in the 2015 Imo State FA Cup as the semi final matches are slated for the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
Heartland will tackle Nek United in a very tough tie while Papillo FC powered by the financial might of kanu Nwankwo will try Baton FC for size in the other semi final duel. Both matches are billed for the Dan Anyiam Stadium,Owerri on Thursday.
In Makurdi, Lobi Stars will face Nwaudo on Friday in the first semi final of the 2015 Benue State FA Cup while four other teams are poised to fight for the remaining two slots in the semi final.
The final comes up on Sunday at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
In Lafia, Nasarawa United are close to defending the title they won last year after they secured another place in the final where they are scheduled to face their Feeders team.
The Solid Miners pipped Akwanga Selected Side 2-1 in the semi final while their feeders team defeated last year's finalists, Police machine of Lafia 1-0 in the second semi final game.
The final comes up on Sunday at the Lafia Township Stadium between Nasarawa United and Nasarawa United Feeders team.
