Press Release: Atunwa Calls for High Youth Involvement in Buhari's Govt

Ahead of May 29 handing over, the Speaker of Kwara State Assembly and Member-Elect of House of Representatives, Barr. Razak Atunwa has called on the president-elect, General Mohammadu Buhari to change history and set a new record by involving high number of young people in his government.

Atunwa who made this call in a statement signed by his spokesman, Rotimi Olawale, stated that the commitment and contributions of young people to change across the world cannot be overemphasized, thus called on the president-elect to take advantage of the commitment of the youths in reshaping Nigeria.

"The world's 1.8 billion young people have been a source of innovation, hope and resilience whose power to transform economies must be unleashed. Nigeria youths are not excluded in this trend. Millions of Nigeria youths didn't only advocate for change, they supported the change course. We must take them a step further by allowing them to act the change through involvement in government.

"At local, state, regional and national levels, our brilliant youths must be thoroughly involved in governance. We cannot outplay playmakers of the 21st century in solving problems in same century. Our youths are 21st century playmaker, regardless of age and social status, we must not ignore the effort of young Nigerians on social media and on ground in reforming our nation, they deserve a good place in this government. Our government must leverage on the smartness and strength of our youths to transform major sectors of governance" he stated.

Barr. Razak Atunwa while assessing the contributions of Nigerian youths to the success of the previous elections, he expressed confidence in the ability of millions of Nigerian youths in boosting the nation's economy, peaceful ties between different tribes and religions in the country. Atunwa reinstated his campaign promise on youth development to ensure youths in his constituency enjoy the dividends of quality representation.

"From the enormous contributions of Nigerian youths on social media and on ground in championing peace initiatives which played vital roles toward the success of the 2015 elections, I am confident that their abilities are capable of shaping Nigeria's economy particularly during this time when a lot of damages have been done to Nigerian economy. I believe in their abilities, I believe in their strength and intelligence, these explain why youth development formed an important part of my campaigns"

"I will ensure that youths in my constituency enjoy enabling environment to harness their potentials for the progress of the society. I call on our president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to ensure youths are highly involved in his government at all levels, their passion and ingenuity are salient virtues needed in resetting Nigeria for the falling state" he added.

Atunwa charged Nigerian youths not to relent in their effort to regain Nigeria's lost glory. He urged them to perpetually position themselves at points where they will remain an asset to national development, shun cultism, thuggery, drug abuse and all forms of relegating characters stating that Nigerian youths must set a standard for other youths across the world through commendable characters and impactful contributions to national development.
