Police Recruitment: 43 Arrested For Forgery

Police authorities have arrested 43 people for using fake documents to gain admission into the Police College Ilorin in Kwara State. The  Monitoring Unit of Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja during one of its routine visits to the school discovered them and they were investigated.

Some of them have spent up to five months in the college before being nabbed. They have since been charged to court. While 33 of them were granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 with a surety each in like sum. The remaining ten were remanded in the prison custody.

It was gathered that similar incident occurred few months ago when 60 people were found to have presented fake results for admission. The recurring incident which has become an embarrassment has made the authorities at the College to tighten admission procedure to prevent such occurrence in the future. Some of the fake certificates included senior secondary school certificate, National Diploma and Higher National diploma as well as University degree certificates.
