The Seventh year remembrance prayer in honour of Late Alhaji Sulyman Okandeji Akanbi Oriokoh will come on the fourteenth of this month.

The event will take place at the deceased Oriokoh residence, Ogele compound, Ilorin , the Kwara State capital.

The programme will be in two segments with the first one coming up between ten and eleven o'clock in the morning to be presided over by a frontline Islamic Scholar while the second segment which is a sermon will hold between four and six o'clock in the evening to be led by Imam Maraba.

The Are of Ogele in Asa Local government, Alhaji Abubakar Ishola Are will be the father of the day and chief host of the event.

The late Alhaji Okandeji Akanbi is survived by his wife, Alhaja Falilat Abeje Akanbi, children and grandchildren among whom are the wife of a former Chief of Defense Staff, Hajia Aminat Modupe Ibrahim, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi, a journalist with Radio Kwara, Hajia Binta Ismaheel, Hajia Ramatu Akinkumi, Hajia Mariam Kabir Kano, Hajia Atu Mohammed Erubu and Hajia Ayobola Abdulsalam Abojumeji.

Late Alhaji Akanbi died on the fourteenth of December, 2010 at the age of eighty nine.
