Kwara: Two petrol laden tankers in head-on collision

Two petrol-laden tankers were involved in a head-on collision at the weekend in Kwara State.

The accident occurred on Saturday, at about 17:25hrs at Kanbi-Oloru village on Jebba-Bode-Saadu highway in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Kwara Fire Service saved the two petrol tankers loaded with 33,000Litres, with registration No WSE163XA and FGF372ZS, from total destruction.

Personnel of the fire service prevented the tankers from catching fire, according to a statement by the spokesman of the service, Hassan Adekunle, in Ilorin on Sunday.

He said no live was lost in the accident.

DAILY POST reports that the accident was caused as a result of the careless overtaking by one of the drivers.

Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, Director, Kwara State Fire Service, advised drivers, transporters in particular, to exercise patience whenever they were on the road.
