The suspects- Musibau Samaila,Nura Abdulrahaman and Saidu Muhammed were intercepted along Sobi barrack road in a Volkswagen Sharam Van with Lagos State vehicle registration number XQ 434 AGL during the routine checks by the soldiers on the road.

The Army public relations officer at Sobi Barracks in Ilorin, Lieutenant Weri Finikumo, paraded the suspects before newsmen in the barrack yesterday.

He said that, "the above named suspects were arrested on September 11,2014 by operatives along Shao check point in Sobi Cantonment".

The army spokesperson added that, "preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are dealers of assorted locally-made swords,knives and bows/arrows".

He said further investigation revealed that, "the suspects were coming to Ilorin for the first time and have no specific home address in the state".

Finikumo said that the suspects would be handed over to the officers of Department of State Security Services (DSS) for further action.

Items recovered are, "33 packs of arrows,13 swords,262 assorted knives,2 knives files,36 catapults, 2 mobile phones and a cash sum of N8,260.00.
