APC registration: New dawn for Nigeria's democracy - Belgore

Date: 2013-08-01

A chieftain of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Kwara State, Mohammed Dele Belgore has described the acceptance of the merger of opposition parties to become one as positive development to the nation.

Belgore in statement signed by his media aide, Rafiu Ajakaye, noted that: "The registration of APC brings a new dawn to Nigeria's democratic experiment."

According to him, "It is a victory for the people of Nigeria who have long clamoured for the coming together of progressive opposition parties to end the years of disrespect for popular wish, executive lawlessness, corruption and widespread poverty, irrespective of the fact that the country is richly blessed with fertile land and huge human potentials."

The party stalwart also commended the independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for its painstaking efforts towards the successful registration of the All Progressive Party, APC.

His words: "For us in Kwara, it is a dream come true as APC would further strengthen our collective efforts to end the state's peculiar politics of underdevelopment, poverty and self-aggrandisement. It is a moment of joy for all the progressive elements waiting in the wings to work together as brothers in the selfless bid to build a new Kwara State.

"One that would shed the toga of being a fiefdom and be seen as a place where individual potential blossoms without any let or hindrance."
