Robbery: Police parade Kwara students

Date: 2017-09-14

Two students from Kwara State were among armed robbery suspects paraded before newsmen on Wednesday at the Katsina State police command headquarters.

The two students are Abdulrosheed Ibrahim, 20 years, who claimed to be a 300 level student at Kwara State College of Education, Lafiagi and Opeyemi Agboola, 19 years, who claimed to be an ND 2 Marketing student at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

Police said the duo were members of a four-member robbery gang recently arrested at Bakori, the headquarters of Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The leader of the gang, simply identified as Ahmed, was said to be on the run.

Both Ibrahim and Agboola said it was Ahmed that brought them to Katsina State on July, 29, on the pretext that he was going to introduce them to a ram business.

Ibrahim confessed to newsmen to have taken part in the robbery operation while Agboola said police came to arrest him at a tea joint where he was waiting for Ibrahim and other members of the gang who went for the operation.

Spokesman for the Katsina police command, DSP Gambo Isah, confirmed the development, adding that investigation was still going on.
