Kwara State House of Assembly has directed the state's commissioners for Finance and Economic Planning, Accountant- General and Auditor- General to appear before it.

The house asked the government officials to appear before its Public Account Committee (PAC)to explain the non-release of budgetary provisions to the office of the state Auditor - General, thereby incapacitating it from performing its functions as enshrined in the nation's constitution.

It took the decision following the motion raised by the chairman,Public Account Committee, Abdul Rasheed Abdullahi on the inability of the office of the state Auditor General to submit audited reports of the state’s finances for the year 2015.

Reading the resolutions of the House, the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad said the constitution empowers the legislature to look into the audited reports of the state, six months after the preceding year and said the house was resolute in raising the bar of good governance in the state through accountability and transparency.

He said in view of this, the House would be interested in finding out who and what were responsible for the inability of the office of the state Auditor General to perform its constitutional functions.
