DStv Basketball: Customs, Kano Pillars, Kwara Falcons, Rivers Hoopers in semis
Nigeria Customs of Lagos Basketball have booked their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2016 DStv Basketball men's national finals after seeing off Niger Potters of Minna 57-51.
Customs had beaten Plateau Peaks 78-48 and overcame their conference archrivals Kwara Falcons 57-52 to achieve a 100 per cent record so far in the championship.
Similarly, three times champions, Kano Pillars overcame Rivers Hoopers 83-62 to berth in the semi-finals, while Kwara Falcons defeated Niger Potters 62-58 to also reach the semi-finals.
Customs' Head Coach, Scot Nnaji, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday after picking their third straight wins that the team had the capacity to reach the final.
"It is a tough competition, we look good after every win and this is improving our confidence, we look forward to the semi-final pairings and are well prepared to play any team.
"We are confident of reaching the final and we have set our target to play in a continental championship," Nnaji said.
NAN reports that after all group games were decided, former champions, Kano Pillars are paired with Kwara Falcons of Ilorin in the semi-finals, while Customs will engage Rivers Hoopers of Port Harcourt.
The semi-finals and classifications matches come up on Thursday. The championship which began on June 21 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, ends on June 25. (NAN)
