Kwara residents react to resident doctors sack

Some Kwara residents have today reacted to the sacking of striking resident doctors by Federal Government, saying such decision should be reversed, noting that Nigerians will feel the pain.

A business man in Ilorin Chief Bolaji who spoke with our correspondent urged the Federal Government to pay salaries of the resident doctors and carryout detail negotiation rather than resolving to sacking.

According to him, if Federal Government could warned bank to stop mass sacking, why is federal government doing the same.

He described resident doctors as key to life following there roles in saving lives. A taxi driver Mr Sulieman Abubakir said sacking of all resident doctors is a disgrace to the nation.

He however called on president Mohammadu Buhari to revert such decision.

The president of the Kwara state chapter of association of resident doctors , Ade Faponle while speaking with our correspondent on the development said doctors embarked on strike following non payment of salaries, salary short change issue, pension matter among others.

While describing federal government action as purported one, Faponle said Kwara branch is yet to receive any official communication regarding the sacking, adding that that the association will hold a congress this Friday to determine the next line of action.
