Remember day of death, cleric charges people
The Chief Imam of Ilorin Central Mosque, Alhaji Muhammed Soliu has urged people to always bear in mind that death is the ultimate end of all human beings.
He gave this charge on Saturday during the fidau for late Hajia Abiodun Sanusi, wife of one-time Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government and immediate past Chief of Staff, Kwara State Government House, Ilorin, Alhaji Toyin Sanusi.
He said it was important that people as mortal to live their lives in readiness to the inevitable call of death, noting that human being has no option to the call of the messenger of death as soon as their stipulated time on the planet earth is over.
He added that the deceased had lived her own life the way it was destined by Almighty Allah who he said has the authority and power to give and take life, saying that it is important for everyone irrespective of their status in the society to fear and serve God with their talent and wealth as provided for them by Allah.
He charged: "It is very much important for all mortal men and women to live their lives in absolute readiness to the inevitable call of death which is the ultimate end of all human beings; this is because there is no option to the call of the messenger of death as soon as the appointed time for anybody is over.
"The deceased had tried her best as it was destined for her by the Almighty Allah who holds the absolute power to give and take life of any of His creature; so it is imperative for all of us irrespective of our status in the society to fear God and serve Him and remember that a day like this moment will also be our own time when we would have answered that the inevitable call to the great beyond."
The fidau was attended by the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ali Ahmad, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, Senator Ahmed Rafiu, Senator Sha’aba Lafiaji, the Special Adviser to Governor, Ahmed on Political Matter, Alhaji Bibire Ajape.
