The Special Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Electoral Matters, Alhaji Yakub Adisa Ajibade, has presented empowerment programme worth N1.3 million  to some members of his community.

Speaking during the presentation of the empowerment programme held at Ajibade Compound, Gambari Ward of Ilorin East Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Ajibade said that the programme was aimed at assisting the less privileged members of the community towards improving their living standard.

The governor's aide noted that the present administration of governor Ahmed placed premium on improving the welfare of the people, hence the need to complement his efforts.

He charged the beneficiaries of the loan scheme to pay up between the six months agreed upon by the bank towards extending same to other beneficiaries.

Ajibade, who is also the founder and financier of Ajibade the Great Forum, a political organization in Gambari ward of Ilorin East Local Government, said the revolving loan scheme cut across three categories, namely category A, N10, 000, B N25, 000 and C N50, 000 respectively.

Items presented at the occasion include food items, clothes, motorcycles among others, while 10 women every month would be given Ankara cloths.

While commenting on the empowerment programme, the Gambari Ward I PDP Chairman, Mallam Zubair Mohammed Zubair, lauded Ajibade for the gesture and charged the beneficiaries to use the loan and items judiciously.

Zubair urged other political office holders to emulate Ajibade towards improving the living standard of the people and extend the dividends of democracy to the electorates.
