FG releases N2bn for SMEs in Kwara

The Nigerian government has released a sum of two billion Naira for the development of Small Medium Scale Enterprises in Kwara State.

The Minister of National Planning, Doctor Abubakar Suleiman, disclosed this at a Press conference held in Ilorin, Kwara state, North Central, Nigeria.

 

Doctor Suleiman stated that the gesture was imperative to enable small scale businesses and industrialists grow and further boost the economic development of the state.

The Minister disclosed that the fund can be accessed through the office of the Minister of National Planning to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Doctor Suleiman called on the people of the state to utilise the opportunity provided to enable them be self employed and reduce poverty level .

Doctor Suleiman noted that President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration was determined to diversify the country's economy, which propelled the government to further develop Small Scale Enterprises for the growth and development of the economy.

Our VON correspondent reports that the Federal Executive Council had also approved a water project in Malete, Moro Local Government to provide the students of the Kwara State University and the host community portable access water
