I'll free Kwara from bondage - Ajibola

Date: 2014-12-15

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Senator Simeon Ajibola, has said that he was motivated to contest the election in order to free Kwara residents from bondage.

Ajibola, in a statement of appreciation on his emergence as the PDP candidate, promised to stop capital flight, use of foreign contractors and white elephant projects that have no positive impacts on the lives of the people of the state.

The governorship candidate, who dedicated his victory at the party's primary to the Almighty God, promised to "work for a new glorious dawn for the people of the state and that of the PDP."

According to him, if elected, he would usher in a new direction that would bring a new lease of life to the people of the state.

He commended the national and state executives of the party, the 11 governorship aspirants, PDP elders, party members and the delegates for making the primary a success.

Ajibola noted that though the journey to the enthronement of democracy in the state PDP was tough, it had brought unity and oneness into the party.

The statement said, "Words are not enough to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the people who, directly or indirectly, contributed to the success recorded so far in our journey to our desired freedom. I am short of adequate words to express the depth of my gratitude to all aspirants.

"We fought for the enthronement of democracy in Kwara PDP; we did not receive it on a platter of gold. The struggle has brought unity among us all."
