City People Magazine Honours Nda-Isaiah, Ahmed, Dabiri, Others
The founder of the LEADERSHIP Group, Sam Nda-Isaiah, has continued to receive accolades from far and near for his managerial skills.
Nda-Isaiah, a presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was one of the the recipients of the City People's magazine second political excellence awards yesterday.
The award, according to the organisers, is given to honour political leaders who are "making the difference in the lives of the people."
Apart from Nda-Isaiah, others who received the award include Kwara State Governor Abdul Fatai Ahmed, former Oyo State governor Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala and member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abike Dabiri.
Others include the minister of state for defence Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, special adviser to the president on Niger Delta Affairs Kingsley Kuku and the director-general of the Nigeria Sport Commission (NSC) Gbenga Elegbaleye, amongst others.
While speaking at the event, Nda-Isaiah thanked the organisers of the award, saying the gesture has encouraged him to continue to contribute his quota to the development of the country.
He also assured Nigerians that his party, APC, would ensure a free and fair election in the country and that the party had positioned itself to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Nda-Isaiah also said that, as a serious opposition party, APC would present the best candidates for the 2015 general elections.
"I am sure that my party, the APC, will put its best leg forward by having free and fair primaries. We are ready to tell Nigerians that we mean business," Nda-Isaiah said.
He also encouraged the youths not to give up on the country but to keep hope alive and also participate in the change that Nigeria needs.
In his speech at the occasion, the publisher of City People magazine, Seye Kehinde, said the political excellence awards was set up as a platform to identify and honour deserving individuals, political office holders and stakeholders who had performed creditably in their various offices.
He noted that in spite of the negative comments and developments in the nation's polity, there were certain politicians and public organisations that were doing well.
Kehinde stressed that such people deserve to be commended in order to encourage them to do more and encouraged others to emulate them.
