A House of Representatives aspirant for Ilorin west and Asa Local Government Areas of Kwara State, Sheriff Shagaya has disclosed the reason why he wanted to represent the people of the council areas in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, was to offer himself for selfless service to the people of the area and ensure the presence of the federal government in the area and Kwara State at large.

In another development, Shagaya appealed for calm within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in the State, against the recent development in the party where some people staged a protest to pressure their home demands from the leadership of the party in the state over an alleged imposition and swearing-in of a factional local government party chairman in Ilorin West Local Government Area (LGA) of the state against a court ruling, urging the stakeholders in the party to play the game according to the rules and allow peace to reign because the party leadership in the State and National level were working round the clock to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed on his behalf by the Media Consultant to Sheriff Shagaya Campaign Organization (SSHACO), Mr Sofihullah Kehinde, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

He assured that he would accost victory home during the forthcoming PDP primary for the seat where he would be able to realized his(Shagya) ambition at the end of the day.

Shagaya who maintained that the wealth of experienced garnered in the private sector of the country would help him to deliver on the electioneering promises to the people of the area, said that the present occupier of the seat in the State has done less for the people of the areas with all the resources accrue for them from the Chamber, promised to do more and better life of the people if eventually elected into the office.

According to him,"Although, I know that God had showered His blessing on my family which made my humble self to be born with the silver spoon but I have been praying and desiring through out my teenage years that if Allah helps me in life and elected into any office, I will use the opportunity to impacted positively on the lives of my people and share out of my wealth to develop them in one way or the other.I have been doing this in the past and I want to do more as elected official.I am very much believe that I would not use this position if elected to tarnish the name, image and integrity of my family that that has been built for years.

"I am also believe that much have to be done for my people in the area of employment opportunities, youth and women empowerment and education and I will ensure that aged in the area are taken care off when I am elected into the House of Representatives come 2015. I want to use this medium to solicit the support of our people in the two council areas and Kwara State as a whole to give total support for my great party, the Peoples Democratic party(PDP) during the forthcoming general elections.
