Kwara tasks health Officers on environmental law protection

Date: 2014-08-31

Kwara Government has called on Environmental Health Officers in the State to employ their professional expertise to protect the environment from all forms of environmental challenges.

The State Commissioner of Environment and Forestry, Mr. Usman Mora made this call yesterday Friday while meeting with the Environmental Health Officers Association in Ilorin.

Mora also charged the Environmental Retirees to continue to impact their professional experience on their younger colleagues as retirement from the civil service does not exempt them from their profession.

He appreciated the National Executive members of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria, EHORCN, for the last workshop organised to improve the standard and practice of officers, as well as show case the deficiencies in the profession.

Mora also thanked the state government for providing an enabling environment in Kwara State, while urging the National Association to carry the Ministry along so as to benefit from its wealth of experience.

Earlier, the Registrar of EHORCN, Mr. Augustine Ebisike commended the state government for its efforts towards the upliftment of the Environment Health Profession.
