Fire guts storey building at Popo-Igbonna

A one-storey building has been gutted by fire at  Igbonna's compound, Popo-Igbonna, Ilorin.

It was gathered that the fire incident that occurred last Wednesday, destroyed properties worth several millions of naira.

Speaking during his inspection of the scene, the Special Adviser on Emergency and Relief Services, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, assured the people that the Kwara State government would continue to provide succour for victims of any disaster in the state.

Alhaji Abdullahi who was disturbed by the level of damage, commiserated with the landlord of the house, Alhaji Shuaib Baba  Olorun Majeogbare over the incident.

The Special Adviser who was represented by a Member of the Emergency and Relief Services Committee in the State, Alhaji Yahaya Ishola, advised the people of the state to guard against any act that may lead to fire incident.

Earlier, the landlord of the house, Alhaji Shuaib  Baba Majaogbare, thanked the state government  for the visits.

He urged the state government to urgently come to his aid, pointing out that it would be difficult for him to repair the house because of his financial predicament.
